My not so enchanted summer

Last summer was an unexpected summer, I went to Mexico. I was supposed to be there only the summer, but I end up staying there for 6 months and 6 days and the enchanted summer I was supposed to have…well, it was not so enchanted after all.
I cannot complain either because it helped me to grow as a person, or at least that is what I think. While I was there I found myself, lost myself and found myself again. It was not all that bad, although all the time I was there I was sick, yes you read it right! … I was sick all the time, I got the flu, sore throat, chicken pox, you name it I had it, and I came back with bronchopneumonia, and you wonder why? I wonder the same thing, still I was able to continue with my daily activities, and visit with my friends of the non-profit organizations I work with.

I was also able to do some missionary work although I had to put my homeschooled daughter into regular school though the experience was not that bad after all but as she said it was chaos. Maybe we expected too much or the standards were too low, go figure! Still she was able to make good friends and she loved the experience.

I will tell you all about my trip, in my upcoming posts, in the mean time I just stopped by to say hi, and to let you know that I have not forgotten about you.

The Lord is good, He always is!!!

Blessings! 🙂

@ 4:15

This past Friday was my daughter’s birthday we kissed, hugged like crazy, ate, played and laughed so hard that my tummy hurt, it was so fun indeed, but most importantly she was so happy and that was priceless. I wish I could say the same thing about the day she was born.

It was May 23 @ 10:30 am when I showed up for my doctor’s appointment, she was only 30 weeks of gestation, the next thing I knew was that I had severe preeclampsia and they needed to do an emergency c-section and we may die, there was nothing to laugh about, I was so scared! 12 years later around the same time we were concerned about her school work.

As soon as I arrived to the hospital they prepared me for surgery and @ 4:15 pm a healthy baby was born, still she was very premature, so I was not able to hold her, they just showed her from afar as they took her to the NICU. This time at the same time she shouted “it is official I’m 12 and I’m so happy”

Who knew I would have such a joy and I do thank the Lord for every single minute of her life.

What are you thankful for?

I love the Monarchy!

Yes, I love the Monarchy! After all, I do what my King says. I follow His laws and commandments and He promised  to take good care of me. Called convenience, but I do as He says because I know He will fulfill His word no matter what.

Keeping His laws and commandments are a delight for me, although sometimes I fall and break a commandment, I’m not perfect, but still He forgives me and keeps taking good care of me, no matter how bad things are I know for sure He will be there ALWAYS. I love my King and He loves me, how awesome is that!

He loves me so much to the point He will inherit His kingdom to me, yes that makes me a princess, but please don’t bow down to me!  It’s just me.  ALL the honor and glory should be to Him ALWAYS.  Now you see why I love the Monarchy so much, what’s not to love? But more important I love my King!

And you my friend do you have a King?

Only bad news

This past Wednesday as soon as I woke up the first thing I hear was the sad news of the High school stabbing in Pennsylvania, the week before that was the shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, yesterday a fire in Chile. Sincerely! No matter where you go there is always  bad news, it appears that the sky is falling and the people suffer for no reason. Listening to the news is very depressing, there is no good news only tragedies, people suffering all over the world and some wonder… what is happening?

Rest assured it is not the end of the world, although it may look like it is and so many have lost hope for the same reason, and while we have more questions than answers all I can say is that: “[God] will wipe away the tears from [your] eyes, and there will be no death, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain, because all the old has gone” Revelation 21:4

Although it may not seem like there is hope, we do have hope and one day there will be no more pain and suffering, but while we wait we must continue praying to our Father for He is faithful to His promises, and you are not alone.

When things go wrong as they sometimes will.
When the road you’re drudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest if you must but don’t you quit!

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
as everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about.
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
you may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out –
the silver tint of the cloud of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit-
it’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

What do I want for us?

After last week I was preparing for an uproar but nothing happened, this can only mean three things  one, everyone agrees with me, second no one cares or third no one is reading my post (although this last one does not seem accurate because I know people are reading them)  so, it’s either number one or two, still I hope someone cares enough to say something.

Like I said in my last post,  I wasn’t  created from the males head to be above them, nor was I created from his feet either to be trampled, I was created from a rib, to be by his side, and to complement each other. So,  I’m no equal to any male therefore I do not want equality, but what is it exactly that I want.  I only want three things.  Fairness, justice and respect!

1.- Fairness; especially in our jobs. It is not fair that males get paid more than females for doing the same job. It is more sad that in some professions females discriminate among females and prefer males to do the job, I have seen this so many times, especially in nursing, the Director of Nursing or the Nurse supervisor ALWAYS prefer the males and these directors and supervisors are usually females; That is not fair!  WE deserve fairness!  we deserve to be paid for the job we do, not for our gender, there is a huge gap that needs to be fix, and it has to begin with us (yes ladies I’m talking to you!)

2.- Justice; just because we are females that does not mean we should let everyone abuse us physically and or emotionally.  It saddens me every time I hear “oh well boys will be boys” what does that mean!  What are we suppose to be? Especially when I read the news and see sexual abusers get away with it. No sir that is not fair and we deserve Justice!

3.- Respect; we all choose how to live our lives, what or in whom to believe, if someone decides to be a housewife please respect that, if a lady decided to be a petrochemical engineer respect that. Now a days it seems that the role of the females in our society is being undermined, no matter what they do they are always looked down on. We are pretty important not only for human preservation, but for a whole lot of things. So, please respect us!

So at the end  as I said in the beginning I only want  fairness, justice and respect, but this is not only for us (the ladies) this is for every single human being in the earth, we ALL deserve this much because guess what,  we are not created equal!

And you my friend, what do you want?

I do not want to love you,

forbidden love,

crazy love,

wounded love. .

I do not want to love you,

love of no one,

love of everyone,

love? … Who knows?

I do not want to love you!,

I cry awake,

I close my eyes

and I love you more.

I do not want to love you,

you did not sought me,

just go alone …

Leave me in peace!

Move on and Move Forward!

Amazingly January is almost over. It seems like yesterday when we just welcomed the New Year and yet it seems like we are still living in the past. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that many of us are still writing 2013 instead of 2014, for some reason it takes time to get adjusted to the new year, after all it was a whole year! So while we are still hanging on to the past; don’t you think today is a good day to move on and move forward?

Forget about the past, forget about what you didn’t do and still hope you can fix, yesterday is history and today is a gift, that is why it is called the present. Yes! Today is a great day to begin, move on and move forward with your life and be happy, life is too short to be wasted. Remember “[the Lord] will show you the path of life; In [His] presence [your life] is full of joy; At [His] right hand are pleasures forevermore” Psalms 16:11 KJV

Don’t dwell in past, move on and move forward! 😉

10 Steps to Get Out of the Way

Last week I wrote about how we are the barrier that separates us from happiness, and I recommended to move out of the way. Someone must think, it is easy for you to say it; but, how do I move out of the way?, especially if you’re one of those people who feels stuck and doesn’t even know what to do . Believe me I have been in the same situation, but over time I have learned some important things that have helped me to stop being the obstacle in my life and to be happy. I hope that this will help you and will  be a blessing in your life.

1. Accept that you can’t do it alone; certainly, the choices we make in life are ours and we must take responsibility for our actions, but we can’t do it alone, we need the people who love us at our side. It does not matter how lonely you feel there is always someone who is willing to help you and be by your side.

2. Ask for help; always, the first one to ask for help is God, remember the beautiful psalm that says ” I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.” He is slow to anger, and abundant in loving-kindness, no matter what your current situation is, He is always there to help you, the only thing you have to do is ask Him for help.

3. Make short, medium and long-term goals; this is very important, ones does not need to have a degree in business administration to know that we need to set goals. Write your ideas and what you need to do in order to improve your life. For example if you want to lose weight , remember that you didn’t gain 20 lb in a day, instead gain some perspective and think how long it took for you to gain that weight so it will take some time to lose it as well, then allow yourself that much time to work at that goal. Do the same if you need to quit smoking or in any change you want to make. Remember, planning and implementation takes time, but is key to succeed in life. Don’t forget that the world wasn’t made in one day.

4. Think positive; my grandmother used to said, “an unoccupied mind is the devil’s workshop” And she wasn’t lying. We are the product of what we think, so you have to start throwing away and repudiate those bad thoughts. Because you are worth so much, actually you are an invaluable creation of God, Princes  and Princesses heirs of His Kingdom. Hence, you need to conduct yourself accordingly.

5. Run away from bad company; you have enough already with all your problems and you do not need more stress in your life. Therefore, you don’t need people who don’t help you at all, that have negative thoughts, people who love to gossip, you really want to run away from bad company. Instead, surround yourself with positive people, people who love you and that make you feel good. So, forget about the haters.

6. Keep moving without fear; Please meditate on this beautiful promise, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 KJV

7. Review your goals from time to time; it is important that from time to time you sit down to review your short, medium and long-term goals.

8. Re – evaluate, modify and move forward; If you see that you are not making progress or something is not working modify your plans , and move forward the important thing is to keep moving.

9. There is nothing that fasting and prayer can’t overcome; I have no doubt, prayer and fasting not only benefit us physically but also emotionally and bring us closer to God.

10. Last but not least; don’t forget that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Blessings! 😉

My Top 10 Reasons Why I Keep the Shabbat

One of the conditions for my daughter to be in a play is that we do not rehearse on Friday night, more specifically 1 hr before Sundown on Fridays. However, she can rehearse Saturdays 1 hr after the Sunset. We have being so blessed that the play director has agreed from the beginning and no questions were asked, he knew this was for religious reasons. Still people gets curious, and ask why? Some even ask me; what is it that you do in Saturday? Why do you do it? Everywhere I go, if someone notices that I keep the Shabbat they will ask, and honestly, I do not mind at all.

But, while I do not give a theological explanation on why do I keep the Shabbat Holy, I do give my personal reasons, as I believe that the relationship between my creator an me is personal.

So, Here they are my Top 10 Reasons Why I keep the Shabbat.

1. Because after all His work, The Lord rested and sanctified the Shabbat (Genesis 2:2-3)
2. Because the Lord command me to do so (Exodus 20:8 and Deuteronomy 5:12)
3. Because, it is the only day that I totally commit myself in prayer, and meditation of the Lords word. It is the day that I take special delight in The Lord (Isaiah 58:13-14) That does not mean I do not pray the rest of the week, I do pray and study the Lords word all the time, but The Shabbat is specially dedicated to that.
4. Keeping the Shabbat holy is part of me obeying the Lord. Because my house and I are committed to serve the Lord (Joshua 24)
5. Because it brings Joy and peace to my home.
6. Because It is part of our way of living, or week finish at sunset on Friday and we take delight in the Lord.
7. Because it is a wonderful celebration. My family and I love traditions
8. Because I want to live a Godly life by following Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach) example. He keep the Shabbat holy (Luke 4:16)
9. Because I keep the 10 Commandments as instructed in the Torah (Mathew 5:17-20)
10. Because, my inner Jew tells me I should keep doing so, and to be honest… I love it!

And you my friend why day do you keep for The Lord?
