My not so enchanted summer

Last summer was an unexpected summer, I went to Mexico. I was supposed to be there only the summer, but I end up staying there for 6 months and 6 days and the enchanted summer I was supposed to have…well, it was not so enchanted after all.
I cannot complain either because it helped me to grow as a person, or at least that is what I think. While I was there I found myself, lost myself and found myself again. It was not all that bad, although all the time I was there I was sick, yes you read it right! … I was sick all the time, I got the flu, sore throat, chicken pox, you name it I had it, and I came back with bronchopneumonia, and you wonder why? I wonder the same thing, still I was able to continue with my daily activities, and visit with my friends of the non-profit organizations I work with.

I was also able to do some missionary work although I had to put my homeschooled daughter into regular school though the experience was not that bad after all but as she said it was chaos. Maybe we expected too much or the standards were too low, go figure! Still she was able to make good friends and she loved the experience.

I will tell you all about my trip, in my upcoming posts, in the mean time I just stopped by to say hi, and to let you know that I have not forgotten about you.

The Lord is good, He always is!!!

Blessings! 🙂

I love the Monarchy!

Yes, I love the Monarchy! After all, I do what my King says. I follow His laws and commandments and He promised  to take good care of me. Called convenience, but I do as He says because I know He will fulfill His word no matter what.

Keeping His laws and commandments are a delight for me, although sometimes I fall and break a commandment, I’m not perfect, but still He forgives me and keeps taking good care of me, no matter how bad things are I know for sure He will be there ALWAYS. I love my King and He loves me, how awesome is that!

He loves me so much to the point He will inherit His kingdom to me, yes that makes me a princess, but please don’t bow down to me!  It’s just me.  ALL the honor and glory should be to Him ALWAYS.  Now you see why I love the Monarchy so much, what’s not to love? But more important I love my King!

And you my friend do you have a King?

What do I want for us?

After last week I was preparing for an uproar but nothing happened, this can only mean three things  one, everyone agrees with me, second no one cares or third no one is reading my post (although this last one does not seem accurate because I know people are reading them)  so, it’s either number one or two, still I hope someone cares enough to say something.

Like I said in my last post,  I wasn’t  created from the males head to be above them, nor was I created from his feet either to be trampled, I was created from a rib, to be by his side, and to complement each other. So,  I’m no equal to any male therefore I do not want equality, but what is it exactly that I want.  I only want three things.  Fairness, justice and respect!

1.- Fairness; especially in our jobs. It is not fair that males get paid more than females for doing the same job. It is more sad that in some professions females discriminate among females and prefer males to do the job, I have seen this so many times, especially in nursing, the Director of Nursing or the Nurse supervisor ALWAYS prefer the males and these directors and supervisors are usually females; That is not fair!  WE deserve fairness!  we deserve to be paid for the job we do, not for our gender, there is a huge gap that needs to be fix, and it has to begin with us (yes ladies I’m talking to you!)

2.- Justice; just because we are females that does not mean we should let everyone abuse us physically and or emotionally.  It saddens me every time I hear “oh well boys will be boys” what does that mean!  What are we suppose to be? Especially when I read the news and see sexual abusers get away with it. No sir that is not fair and we deserve Justice!

3.- Respect; we all choose how to live our lives, what or in whom to believe, if someone decides to be a housewife please respect that, if a lady decided to be a petrochemical engineer respect that. Now a days it seems that the role of the females in our society is being undermined, no matter what they do they are always looked down on. We are pretty important not only for human preservation, but for a whole lot of things. So, please respect us!

So at the end  as I said in the beginning I only want  fairness, justice and respect, but this is not only for us (the ladies) this is for every single human being in the earth, we ALL deserve this much because guess what,  we are not created equal!

And you my friend, what do you want?

WARNING: I hesitated posting this because I do not want to offend anyone. Still, I will speak up my mind regarding this topic, and I think I have the right to do so because I am a woman, so I most likely speaking on my behalf. So, if you are sensitive on this topic and want equality for all women, please DO NOT continue reading and find out why I do not want equality for Women since I do not want to offend you.

So, here I go…

When I was in high school I was so naive, I believe I could change the world, if I only had the power I was going to solve all the inequality issues in the world, and I wasn’t alone in that journey, I had a group of classmates that believed the same thing as me, little did I know.

As much as I defended equality back them, I sincerely said today “I don’t want equality for women!”  I don’t want to be equal to any male.  Why? Because…

First of all we were not created equal, I truly believe I’m was created by The Elohim of Abraham, and Jacob,  yes by The great I AM Jehovah, indeed He is my creator and when He made me He decided to make me different not equal. At this point you don’t even have to believe in God, to see that males and females are not physiologically equal, or are they? Of course not! We don’t have the same strength nor the same feebleness, physiologically speaking we the women can have children’s, men can’t.  I could go on and on, about this topic, but if you are curious, search it and you will be surprised at how different we are. But we are not different to be set apart, we are different to complement each other, and that is the beauty of it.  Just because I don’t have the physical strength that my husband has does not mean I’m weak or less than him, we complement each other!

Secondly,  the equality thing makes it look like I’m in a contest, it seems as though we have declare war on each other, and yes we want to wear the pants in the family, seriously? If we search in the scriptures we find several bible verses that said that the husband is the head, let’s not forget that we are the neck. And what moves the head? Isn’t it the neck? Let’s don’t forget that  “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”(Proverbs 14:1 KJV)

Third, I don’t want equality for women, because I wasn’t  created from the males head to be above them, nor was I created from his feet either to be trampled on, I was created from a rib, to be by his side, and to complement each other, The Lord can never be mistaken in His creation.

Therefore, I don’t want equality because WE ARE NOT EQUAL, not less not more than any male.

Next week I’ll be letting you know what exactly it is that I want and why, meanwhile tell me my dear friend; what do you want for women?

I Don’t Have Any Dreams!

Not so long ago I was being interviewed and I was asked; do you have any dreams? And I said; no, I don’t have any dreams, the interviewer looked at me all confused, and I just smiled at her. In reality, I have so many dreams and hopes, but I have learned that it does not matter how many dreams I have, and it does not matter how well I plan to make them come true, if the Lord has different plans for me then my dreams will not become a reality.

So, I learned that He has bigger dreams for me. I only let Him know my dreams but I let Him dream for me, because I know, He has better things for me. That does not mean that I have no goals, I have one too many, but I have let the Lord guide my life completely. It is not easy, because sometimes I get excited with certain things, and they just don’t happen, still the Lord knows what is best for me, and He will always provide because he wants me to be the beginning and not the end. Having dreams is wonderful, but letting the Lord to dream with you is priceless, because he knows what is best for you, and He will bless you according to His will and for His glory.

And you, do you have any dreams?

Move on and Move Forward!

Amazingly January is almost over. It seems like yesterday when we just welcomed the New Year and yet it seems like we are still living in the past. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that many of us are still writing 2013 instead of 2014, for some reason it takes time to get adjusted to the new year, after all it was a whole year! So while we are still hanging on to the past; don’t you think today is a good day to move on and move forward?

Forget about the past, forget about what you didn’t do and still hope you can fix, yesterday is history and today is a gift, that is why it is called the present. Yes! Today is a great day to begin, move on and move forward with your life and be happy, life is too short to be wasted. Remember “[the Lord] will show you the path of life; In [His] presence [your life] is full of joy; At [His] right hand are pleasures forevermore” Psalms 16:11 KJV

Don’t dwell in past, move on and move forward! 😉

I Don’t Want More Patience!

I was so into my Religion class homework and suddenly I read a bible verse that I knew but that I hadn’t  meditated on lately.  As soon as I finish reading it I got up from my desk and ran abruptly downstairs, I went to the kitchen where my mother-in-law was cooking and I told her “I don’t want more patience, please do not pray for me because I don’t want more patience”

She looked at me a little bit confused and with a big smile in her face she asked me; why don’t you want more patience? Because, “the testing of your faith produces patience” and I don’t want my faith to be tested, I don’t want more trials nor tribulations, so please do not pray for me to have more patience.

It is not a secret that the path to patience is a long, long road, and to be honest I truly believe I have so much patience with people, really, I’m very patient, nevertheless I think I can always improve my patience, but I don’t want to be tested, I don’t know about you, but not me. Although that is a utopia, in reality for my patience to growth my faith need to be tested, that builds my character, but the point is not to be tested but instead to learn from those trials.

So, I try to learn patiently from all the trials that come to my life, although, I don’t want more patience! 😉

10 Steps to Get Out of the Way

Last week I wrote about how we are the barrier that separates us from happiness, and I recommended to move out of the way. Someone must think, it is easy for you to say it; but, how do I move out of the way?, especially if you’re one of those people who feels stuck and doesn’t even know what to do . Believe me I have been in the same situation, but over time I have learned some important things that have helped me to stop being the obstacle in my life and to be happy. I hope that this will help you and will  be a blessing in your life.

1. Accept that you can’t do it alone; certainly, the choices we make in life are ours and we must take responsibility for our actions, but we can’t do it alone, we need the people who love us at our side. It does not matter how lonely you feel there is always someone who is willing to help you and be by your side.

2. Ask for help; always, the first one to ask for help is God, remember the beautiful psalm that says ” I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.” He is slow to anger, and abundant in loving-kindness, no matter what your current situation is, He is always there to help you, the only thing you have to do is ask Him for help.

3. Make short, medium and long-term goals; this is very important, ones does not need to have a degree in business administration to know that we need to set goals. Write your ideas and what you need to do in order to improve your life. For example if you want to lose weight , remember that you didn’t gain 20 lb in a day, instead gain some perspective and think how long it took for you to gain that weight so it will take some time to lose it as well, then allow yourself that much time to work at that goal. Do the same if you need to quit smoking or in any change you want to make. Remember, planning and implementation takes time, but is key to succeed in life. Don’t forget that the world wasn’t made in one day.

4. Think positive; my grandmother used to said, “an unoccupied mind is the devil’s workshop” And she wasn’t lying. We are the product of what we think, so you have to start throwing away and repudiate those bad thoughts. Because you are worth so much, actually you are an invaluable creation of God, Princes  and Princesses heirs of His Kingdom. Hence, you need to conduct yourself accordingly.

5. Run away from bad company; you have enough already with all your problems and you do not need more stress in your life. Therefore, you don’t need people who don’t help you at all, that have negative thoughts, people who love to gossip, you really want to run away from bad company. Instead, surround yourself with positive people, people who love you and that make you feel good. So, forget about the haters.

6. Keep moving without fear; Please meditate on this beautiful promise, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 KJV

7. Review your goals from time to time; it is important that from time to time you sit down to review your short, medium and long-term goals.

8. Re – evaluate, modify and move forward; If you see that you are not making progress or something is not working modify your plans , and move forward the important thing is to keep moving.

9. There is nothing that fasting and prayer can’t overcome; I have no doubt, prayer and fasting not only benefit us physically but also emotionally and bring us closer to God.

10. Last but not least; don’t forget that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Blessings! 😉

Move out of the way!

Today is December 30th the year is almost over, there are only a few hours left, maybe less than 48 hrs. And it seems that everyone is busy with their New Year’s resolution. The interesting thing about all this is that if we compare this year resolutions with last year they are almost the same, a big list of unfulfilled promises. Of course, at the beginning of the year, everyone is on a diet, while others promise not to drink and that they will behave, but when February 14 approaches there is one more reason to celebrate, so the diet and all other promises could wait.

Then without even realizing it May is here, everyone begins the diet again and everyone is worried because summer is around the corner and they have to look good. Great summer is gone! However, no one lost weight nor did they behave as promised. Sadly, November is here and it seems that all the New Year resolutions were left behind, they seem to fade away, but there is still hope since December eventually will be here and they could make new resolutions, after all the important thing is to begin, right?
December is finally here, so you try to stop the time while you see all the broken promises. Those who were suppose to lose weight gained weight, and all others broken promises that weren’t fulfilled, you looked at the list with remorse, and reach out for the cookie, cake or whatever it is that is reachable to eat as if that where a consolation price. So what! You will begin to fulfill your promises in January

That is sad, to know that you cannot even fulfill a promise made to yourselves, and the issue is not that you cannot, the issue is that you don’t want to! There is always an excuse, there is always tomorrow, and there is always later. The bible said, “He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” The good news is that the Lord is not that way, He always fulfills His promises and He is faithful to His words

So, if you are sad, worried or feeling guilty because all of those broken promises, if you didn’t fulfill them in 12 months you will not fulfill them in one day, if you are not happy don’t forget that The Lord always fulfills his promises and He wants you to be happy. And the only one standing between happiness and you, is you. So, move out of the way!

Crazy? … Oh Yeah!

While preparing for Erev Shabbath, I was thinking that for some reason some people think that so much happiness is crazy, and I recalled that more than one time some of my friends had called me crazy and then smiled, and usually is because of my ideas or simple because I was so happy and smiling. Those who know me know I don’t smile too much LOL =D 😛 It is interesting though that rich people is call eccentric but we the poor are call crazy. That is not point, but anyway.

I want you to know that I feel so proud when they call me crazy, because they say it with so much love and I made my friends smile. But not only because of that, but because, that means I’m different, I’m not just any person, but more important I’m unique, and to be honest… I love being unique! And let’s not forget, Albert Einstein, Violeta Parra, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz and my dear Yeshua HaMashiach were also called crazy. So, I wonder; Has anyone called you crazy?
