@ 4:15

This past Friday was my daughter’s birthday we kissed, hugged like crazy, ate, played and laughed so hard that my tummy hurt, it was so fun indeed, but most importantly she was so happy and that was priceless. I wish I could say the same thing about the day she was born.

It was May 23 @ 10:30 am when I showed up for my doctor’s appointment, she was only 30 weeks of gestation, the next thing I knew was that I had severe preeclampsia and they needed to do an emergency c-section and we may die, there was nothing to laugh about, I was so scared! 12 years later around the same time we were concerned about her school work.

As soon as I arrived to the hospital they prepared me for surgery and @ 4:15 pm a healthy baby was born, still she was very premature, so I was not able to hold her, they just showed her from afar as they took her to the NICU. This time at the same time she shouted “it is official I’m 12 and I’m so happy”

Who knew I would have such a joy and I do thank the Lord for every single minute of her life.

What are you thankful for?

Ungrateful Brat!

This pass Thursday many of us were ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, many of us were ready to have a nice dinner with family and friends, others perhaps decided to have a big celebration, still we all wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving.

But, how many of us really wanted to give thanks? While I was preparing my Thanksgiving dinner, I was thinking of those who asked me if I was ready to do some shopping on Friday. It seems that people was more concern about the black Friday event than the Thanksgiving itself. And as I keep doing my cooking, I wonder if we were actually celebrating thanksgiving to give thanks of just as an excuse to get days off and hit the mall at a later hour. I got sad, and I thought how ungrateful one can be.

I personally don’t need one day to give thanks. I truly believe we should be thankful every day, and everyday should call for celebration. Because, we wake up every day in the comfort of our homes, shouldn’t that be enough for us to be grateful? I think we have so much to be grateful, but we tend to forget, we walk like zombies and we are so tangle in our lives, that we forget and the only day we may be grateful we turn it into a day of ungratefulness. People are so busy with their shopping list, and scanning stores for deals, that they forget what thanksgiving is all about.

We are here, living in a great nation, yes! Despite of all the problems we may have, still a great country, we still have freedom, freedom that many don’t have, and yet we keep worrying and whining for things that when we look the rest of the world tend to be so superficial. Sadly, we had turned into ungrateful brats.

However, it’s never too late to change and “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” 1 Thessalonians 5:18(KJV)
